About the Presenter:
Valentina G. Kopayeva is Professor in Clinical Ophthalmology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Chief Consultant in Research Activity of the S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and Laser Academy of the Russian Federation, visiting Professor of Harbin Medical University.
Original scientific developments of Prof. Kopayeva are well-known:
- first in the world efficient technology of laser extraction of hard cataracts using 1.44 μm Nd:YAG laser (coauthor with Academician S.N. Fyodorov) has patents of Russian Federation, USA, Germany, as well as the A.L. Chizhevsky Academician Award.
In 1980 Prof. V. Kopayeva organized and was the first director of the Advanced Training Centre for Russian and international ophthalmologists in the field of up-to-date microsurgical technologies of the Academician Fyodorov School.
Professor V. Kopayeva is author of “Eye Diseases” manual officially recommended by the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation for medical students training (2002, 2008,2012).
